Future of Education

Coursera: How do we learn?
Activity 1.4.

What do I think I will be able to get out of this course?
  • Current references on learning theories.
  • Know and improve my learning process.
  • Reflect and share ideas about each lecture and reading.
  • Work on my blog, write my observations and things I discover over the week.

What ideas do I already have about the future of education?

Over the years, education has been structured by a not-flexible frame, limited by time and space, rules and politics. It has become a necessary, and in most cases, a mandatory training cycle, but it has also prove to be a dysfunctional one. We can't tell the future, but by analyzing the present we can try to define our possible actions in this matter.
Education -in most countries- is facing problems such as overpopulation; information overload; lack of resources; introducing institutions into an adaptation to new societies,  forcing them into hasty and wrong decisions.
On the other hand, education may receive support from the same aspects, it all comes to the point of considering the REAL need of learning of every person and society. Changes on education have to be made in this line, researching on how we learn and looking forward new methodologies on this still unkown process.
